I would wholeheartedly recommend the base game itself as a solid Warhammer experience. Fatshark games is both publisher and developer, and has built a solid sequel to the original Vermintide. Streaming has thrown me out of my safe space on more than one occasion, trying games I wouldn’t otherwise be interested in. I must have pre-loaded twenty some-odd games, desperate to find anyone with a mic before finally giving up and jumping into the first mission. My friends and I often wondered why there hadn’t been many good games (there were some really bad ones) based on the Warhammer Fantasy Battle IP. He’s usually found on Twitter yapping on about video games, wrestling, and mojitos.

Vermintide 2 is an improvement over its predecessor with more beautifully designed sprawling levels, more varied enemy types, an addicting loot system, and a whole lot of character skills to try out. Fatshark has polished all the issues that its predecessor had and delivers an amazing game. A good improvement over the first Vermintide and overall a very engaging multiplayer experience.
Vermintide 2 offers challenging team focused gameplay in an absolutely breathtaking Warhammer setting. I played it, I hated it, and I left it alone for a long time. Just be advised that the experience is much better when played with friends.

Your power level has no bearing on the amount of damage you take, so being punted across the map by an irate Rat Ogre hurts as much as it always does. Rather than directly pilfering Destiny’s system, however, Vermintide 2 makes the bold decision to have the effect of your power level be nigh-on indecipherable at first glance. Each character has five gear slots, two for their weapons and three for adornments, all of which add to your overall power level.
